Nature of our service

Steamtown Dumpster Rental primarily provides roll-off dumpster rental services directly to customers throughout Scranton, Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas, and we own and operate dumpsters and coordinate delivery, pickup and waste handling for many projects, together with junk removal. In certain situations where availability, scheduling or project scope requires additional support, we may also act as a referral service connecting customers with independent local dumpster rental businesses ("Service Providers"). When you request a quote or call our number, your details may be shared with one or more qualified Service Providers if necessary to fulfil your request. Each Service Provider operates independently and is solely responsible for its own pricing, services and performance.

By using our website, calling (570) 354-0618 or contacting our team, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with them, please do not use our website or services.

No guarantee of service

We work to provide reliable service directly or to connect you with reputable dumpster rental providers in the Scranton area. However, we do not guarantee availability for every requested date or project; pricing and service timelines may vary with demand and location; same-day and next-day delivery depend on availability; and in places that require a permit or have their own rules first, a booking depends on those requirements. All work completed by a third-party provider is solely between you and that provider, and we are not responsible for issues arising from services performed by referred providers.

Information collection and sharing

When you submit a form, call our number or request a quote, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, project details and service location. This information is used to process your request and may be shared with a relevant Service Provider if needed to fulfil your rental. The Privacy Policy explains more.

Payments and pricing

Prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and depend on the dumpster size, the type and weight of debris, the delivery location and the rental duration. Our flat-rate pricing includes delivery, pickup and disposal within the included weight limit; additional weight is billed at a clear rate set before delivery, and extended rental periods and extra pickups or swaps are charged as quoted. For services we provide, we accept major credit and debit cards, and payment is processed when your booking is confirmed to secure your delivery date. If you are referred to a third-party provider, payment is handled directly between you and that provider, and we are not responsible for quotes or estimates provided by third-party providers, billing discrepancies, refunds or disputes, or service delays or cancellations outside our direct control. Any financial agreement with a third-party provider is solely between you and that provider.

Rental periods and use of the container

The standard rental period is up to 7 days unless otherwise agreed, and your quote states it; extensions are available for an additional daily fee. You are responsible for a flat, stable placement area with clear access for delivery and pickup, for keeping all debris below the top rim of the dumpster, and for keeping prohibited items out. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, paint, solvents and oils; fuel; hazardous chemicals; tires; batteries; gas cylinders and propane tanks; medical waste; asbestos; and appliances containing refrigerants. Pennsylvania's Covered Device Recycling Act bans disposing of covered devices - desktop and laptop computers, computer monitors, computer peripherals and televisions - with municipal waste. Concrete, brick, asphalt and soil are accepted only in a 10 or 15 yard dumpster and within the weight limit.

Placement and permits

We take precautions to protect your property during delivery and pickup; for added protection, you may place plywood or boards under the dumpster wheels. Do not move the container after placement; contact us if it needs relocating. Local rules differ from place to place. On a Scranton street, City Code § 400-17 requires a City permit for a roll-off, and some boroughs, including Archbald and Jermyn, require a Borough permit for every temporary dumpster, even on private property. Pennsylvania's State Highway Law requires a permit to occupy a State highway (§ 420(b)(2)), so containers are not placed in state highway right-of-way. Where a permit is needed for a placement you choose, we work with you on it before booking, but final responsibility for placement on your property and for following any association or landlord rules remains with the customer.

Service provider responsibility

All third-party Service Providers operate as independent businesses. They are responsible for maintaining proper licences, insurance and permits; complying with Scranton and Pennsylvania waste regulations; the safe and lawful disposal of materials; and preventing damage during delivery and pickup. Steamtown Dumpster Rental does not supervise or control third-party providers and is not liable for their actions or performance.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steamtown Dumpster Rental, its owners, partners and affiliates are not liable for injury, property damage or losses resulting from dumpster use or third-party services; for delays, missed deliveries or service interruptions; or for errors or omissions in website content. All use of our services is at your own risk.

No warranties

We make no warranties, express or implied, about the availability or performance of third-party providers, the accuracy or completeness of information on our website, or the suitability of services for your specific project. All services are provided on an "as is" basis.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Steamtown Dumpster Rental, its team and affiliates from any claims, damages or expenses, including legal fees, arising from your use of our website or services, your interactions with third-party Service Providers, or any violation of these Terms and Conditions.

Governing law and changes

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and any disputes are resolved in the appropriate courts serving Scranton, PA. We may update these terms at any time; updates are posted on this page with a revised effective date, and continued use of our website or services after an update means you accept the revised terms.
