Roll-off dumpster rental in Blakely
Approx. 6 road miles northeast of the yard, around 14 minutes.
Blakely is approx. 6 road miles northeast of the yard, around 14 minutes. Same-day or next-day when availability allows; call early in the day for the best chance of same-day. Blakely is a borough of 6,657 at the 2020 Census; Peckville, where the Borough office sits, is a village inside it.
Blakely's Refuse/Recycling Department collects household trash, and the Borough also rents its own 6-cubic-yard dumpsters to residents, with a one-week limit unless Borough management authorizes more. Those Borough boxes take no roof shingles, concrete, appliances, dirt or mulch, cinder blocks, batteries, stone, bricks, tires or electronics. Businesses can keep their own private hauler (Ord. 5 of 2025 § 3). We found no Borough hauler licence and no exclusive-hauler clause; the base refuse ordinance isn't posted online.

- Borough 6-yard dumpsters — available from the Borough for one week, unless management authorizes longer.

- Businesses choose — commercial establishments with their own private hauler keep it (Ord. 5 of 2025 § 3).
- Quiet loading hours — handling containers between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. in a way that disturbs a residential district is barred (Ord. 8 of 2023).
- Snow routes — no parking on Main Street, Keystone Avenue and the other snow emergency routes during a declared emergency (Ord. 9 of 2021).
- 21 miles of road — the Public Works Department looks after over 21 miles of Borough road.
What comes out of Blakely properties
Blakely's own dumpsters suit light household loads, and the Borough's list is plain about what stays out of them: “Roof Shingles, Concrete, Appliances, Dirt/Mulch, Cinder Blocks, Batteries, Stone, Bricks, Tires, Electronics”. A roof tear-off, a masonry job or a bigger clean-out is where a larger roll-off comes in. Small clean-outs, light renovations and yard debris fit a 10 (about 3 pickup loads); medium residential and commercial projects, renovations and yard work a 15 (4 to 5 loads); roofing, remodeling and larger home projects a 20 (about 6); large clean-outs, bulky waste and commercial jobs a 30 (about 9); and major construction and demolition a 40 (about 12). Concrete, dirt and other heavy materials go only in the smaller containers, a 10 or a 15, because of weight restrictions. Most rentals come with a standard rental period of up to 7 days. Need longer? Call (570) 354-0618 and we can extend it for a small additional fee. Finished early? Just call and we'll schedule a prompt pickup.
What goes in: wood, drywall, tile and flooring; furniture and general household junk; yard debris and branches; roofing shingles; and small appliances. What doesn't: paint, solvents or oils; tires; batteries; hazardous chemicals; gas cylinders or propane tanks; medical waste; asbestos; and appliances containing refrigerants — that's our own list. Pennsylvania law adds electronics: under the Covered Device Recycling Act, DEP says “no person may dispose of a covered device or any of its components with their municipal waste” — desktop and laptop computers, computer monitors, computer peripherals and televisions. If you're unsure about an item, call us before loading it. Our what can and can't go in a dumpster in Pennsylvania guide covers the rest. The Borough doesn't take lumber of any type as yard waste. Oil-based paint, automotive fluids, batteries and propane tanks have a public route: Lackawanna County's household hazardous waste event, for county residents only, with pre-registration required — the 2026 event is Saturday, October 31, at The Pavilion at Montage Mountain, 1000 Montage Mountain Rd. The County's Environmental Sustainability office is 570-963-2017. For electronics, Archbald, Blakely, Jessup, Throop, Dickson City and Olyphant run a year-round Mid-Valley Electronics Recycling Program together — your borough office has the details.

Weight is what usually decides the size, not how much room the pile takes up.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Blakely
Who may haul: Blakely's Refuse Fee Ordinance (Ord. 5 of 2025) says each commercial establishment contracting with its own private hauler for 2026 continues to do so, and commercial customers on Borough pickup stay on it (§ 3). We found no exclusive-hauler clause and no Borough hauler licence; the base refuse ordinance (Ord. 3-06) isn't posted online. The ordinances are scans, so they're paraphrased. Statewide, DEP says Act 90 of 2002 “requires all waste transportation vehicles (trucks, truck tractors, or combinations with a registered gross vehicle weight greater than 17,000 lbs., and trailers with a registered gross vehicle weight greater than 10,000 lbs.) transporting municipal or residual waste to waste processing or disposal facilities in Pennsylvania to have a valid Waste Transporter Authorization”, and no processing or disposal facility may accept waste from a vehicle without a current authorization sticker (27 Pa.C.S. § 6206(a)). We're licensed & insured.
In the street: Blakely's Excavation of Streets ordinance (Ord. 4 of 2025) needs a Borough permit, applied for at least seven days ahead, to dig up a street or leave earth or unexcavated material that obstructs it or the right-of-way (§ 2.A); it's written for excavation and spoil and doesn't name containers. The Refuse on Streets ordinance (Ord. 8 of 2021) bars depositing dirt, leaves, gravel or any material on the cartway. During a declared snow emergency there's no parking on the snow emergency routes, including Main Street, Keystone Avenue, Gino Merli Dr., Depot St., River St. and Columbus Ave., and in any storm over 2 inches parking is barred on the odd-numbered side of every Borough street until plowing is done (Ord. 9 of 2021). We found no Borough permit written for a dumpster on a borough street; we check with the Borough before a street placement. The Borough office is at 1439 Main Street, Peckville, 570-383-3340. Driveway first. You don't need to be home as long as we have clear instructions on where to place the dumpster and the drop-off area is accessible and free of vehicles or obstacles. Allow about 60 feet of clear space for the truck and about 25 feet of overhead clearance from trees and power lines. Our dumpsters are about 7.5 feet wide — about 14 feet long for a 10-yard, 16 feet for a 15-yard and 22 feet for a 20-yard and up. We take precautions to protect your property during delivery and pickup, and for added protection you can put plywood or boards under the dumpster's wheels.
Loading hours: Blakely's Noise Control ordinance (Ord. 8 of 2023) bars loading, unloading or handling boxes, crates, containers or similar objects between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. in a way that creates a noise disturbance in a residential district, so our drops and pickups stay outside those hours.
State highways: Pennsylvania's State Highway Law says “No person, municipality or municipality authority shall open a driveway onto a State highway or open the surface of or occupy a State highway without a permit” (§ 420(b)(2)), and PennDOT handles those as highway occupancy permits. So a container never goes in the right-of-way of I-81, I-476, US-6, US-11, PA-307, PA-347 or any other state route — beside one, it goes on private property.
Covered loads: Pennsylvania law says “Every load of loose, nonbaled garbage, waste, refuse or rubbish being transported through or within this Commonwealth shall be transported in a vehicle with four solid sides and with a cover or top of a type to prevent any of the load from escaping. The cover or top shall remain tightly in place going to a disposal site. The load shall be no higher than the solid sides of the vehicle.” (75 Pa.C.S. § 4903(c.1)). Keep debris below the top rim — overfilled dumpsters can't be safely transported.
Remodel or tear-down: Pennsylvania's DEP enforces the federal asbestos NESHAP rules, and where a project is subject to them, “a minimum ten-working-day notification of the project is required to be made to DEP.” DEP adds that it “does not regulate the removal of ACM from private residences unless the residence is an apartment with five or more units.” Check with DEP before a demolition or a big renovation starts. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if an inspection finds any. In Blakely, the Construction Permit Regulations (Ord. 6 of 2025) need an application before anyone constructs, alters, repairs, removes or demolishes, so a tear-down starts with a Borough permit.

How it works
Booking a dumpster in Blakely
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
Step 1: Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask the address and the place - the rules follow the city or borough the property is in - what you are clearing, whether a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard or a job site, what is going in, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.
Step 2: We size it and quote it flat
We recommend the right size, so you do not pay for space you will not use or need another haul, and you get one clear flat-rate price that covers delivery, pickup, disposal within the weight limit and the standard rental period of up to 7 days. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size. If the place needs a permit or has its own rules first, we check them before booking.
Step 3: Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the dumpster on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on flat, solid ground rather than the lawn. Often same-day or next-day, when available. You do not need to be home if the spot is marked and clear of vehicles and obstacles.
Step 4: Load it at your pace
Keep debris below the top rim and keep the problem items out - paint, solvents and oils, fuel, hazardous chemicals, tires, batteries, propane tanks, medical waste, asbestos and appliances containing refrigerants. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.
Step 5: We pick it up and handle the disposal
Call or text when it is full or the job is done and we promptly schedule the pickup. Loads go to local disposal and recycling facilities in the Scranton area, and metal, concrete and yard waste are recycled whenever possible.
