Residential Dumpster Rental
Driveway-friendly roll-off dumpsters for Scranton-area homeowners clearing garages, basements, remodels, roofs, moves and yards.

Service area
17 communities and one yard on N Keyser Ave in Scranton. Here is every place we cover, grouped by area, each with its own page on access, local character and what that place's own rules say about who may haul and containers in the street.
We run roll-off dumpsters out of 1777 N Keyser Ave in North Scranton to every community below. Distance is the first thing that changes. Approx. road miles from the yard: Scranton and Dickson City 3, Taylor 4, Dunmore, Throop and Clarks Summit 5, Blakely 6, Old Forge 7, Archbald and Dalton 9, Jermyn 10, Olyphant, Mayfield and Moosic 11, Jessup 12, Carbondale 13 and Moscow 14. Same-day or next-day is available when availability allows, and timing decides the rest. Neighborhoods and villages without their own page, such as Peckville in Blakely, are inside our run too.
The second thing that changes is the rules. In Scranton, City Code § 400-16 requires any hauler that collects municipal or residual waste inside City limits to hold a yearly City licence, with a City licence sticker shown on every truck it lists, and says roll-off containers carrying waste must be tightly tarped or covered the whole way. On a Scranton street, City Code § 400-17 requires a City permit for any roll-off placed on a street or highway; the container needs a flashing light and proper reflectors, and it may stay in the right-of-way for one day only unless the permit holder hires an off-duty police officer to keep traffic moving safely. So the driveway comes first, and for a street spot we arrange the City's street permit or check the rules with you before booking. Four boroughs have rules that come first. Archbald's code gives the hauler the Borough designates the exclusive right to collect and haul refuse (§ 408-13), although the Borough's own page says businesses hire their own hauler, and every temporary dumpster there needs a Borough permit, even on private property (§ 325-3L). Jermyn's refuse ordinance gives its designated collector the same exclusive right (Ord. 08-2024 § 5), and since 2026 every temporary dumpster there needs a Borough permit too, even on private property (Ord. 12 of 2026 § 3(R)). Dalton's code says only the Borough or its designated subcontractor may transport solid waste through its streets (§ 290-7). Dickson City reserves household refuse to the Borough (Ord. 9-2011 § 9), though its definition of refuse leaves out construction and demolition debris, so a household clean-out is the grey area. In all four we check the Borough's rules before booking. Elsewhere the rules are stated plainly. Old Forge requires a Borough licence for anyone who collects or hauls refuse through its streets (§ 290-4C); Moosic bars emptying dumpsters between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. (§ 137-5); Throop bars trucks over 40 feet long from Edgar Street, local deliveries excepted (Ord. 5 of 2022); and Dunmore reserves household recycling to the Borough (Ord. 3 of 2025 § 9). For Throop, Olyphant, Blakely, Jessup, Taylor, Moscow and Mayfield we found no hauler licence and no dumpster permit rule posted. Outside Scranton, Carbondale's permit FAQ says a dumpster needs a City permit "if the dumpster is placed in the road" and that "If the dumpster is on your property, you are not required to have a permit"; Clarks Summit needs a Borough permit for a dumpster in the street, good for two weeks and renewable to six weeks in all, with reflective tape and two-inch lumber under it (Ord. 2015-02 § 104); and Jermyn needs a Borough permit and a bond for a roll-off on a paved Borough road, with a protective barrier under it (Ord. 2 of 1992). Elsewhere we found no posted street-permit rule for a dumpster, which is not proof there is none, so we check with the borough office before a street placement. Pennsylvania's State Highway Law says no one may "open the surface of or occupy a State highway without a permit" (§ 420(b)(2)), and PennDOT handles anything within state highway right-of-way through its highway occupancy permits, so a container never goes in the right-of-way of I-81, I-476, US-6, US-11, PA-307, PA-347 or any other state route. We are licensed & insured. Each town page gives the section and the office to call. We would rather say it here than find out on delivery day.
The service area
The run splits three ways: Scranton and next door - Scranton, Dunmore, Taylor, Dickson City, Throop and Clarks Summit; the mid and upper valley - Olyphant, Blakely, Jessup, Archbald, Jermyn, Mayfield and Carbondale; and Old Forge, Moosic and beyond - Old Forge, Moosic, Moscow and Dalton.
Scranton, our main market and home to the yard, plus Dunmore, Taylor, Dickson City, Throop and Clarks Summit — roughly 3 to 5 road miles from the yard (approx.). Scranton licenses haulers and needs a City permit for any roll-off on a street (§§ 400-16, 400-17), so for a street spot we check the City's rules with you before booking. Clarks Summit permits street dumpsters two weeks at a time, six weeks at most (Ord. 2015-02 § 104). Dickson City reserves household refuse to the Borough (Ord. 9-2011 § 9), so we check the Borough's rules before booking there. Same-day or next-day when availability allows.
Olyphant, Blakely, Jessup, Archbald, Jermyn, Mayfield and Carbondale — roughly 6 to 13 road miles from the yard (approx.). Archbald and Jermyn need a Borough permit for every temporary dumpster, even on private property, and name an exclusive Borough hauler in their codes, so we check the Borough's rules before booking there. Carbondale needs a City permit for a dumpster in the road. Archbald, Blakely, Jessup and Olyphant share the Mid-Valley Electronics Recycling Program with Throop and Dickson City. Same-day or next-day when availability allows.
Old Forge, Moosic, Moscow and Dalton — roughly 7 to 14 road miles from the yard (approx.). Old Forge licenses refuse haulers for each calendar year (§ 290-4C), and Moosic bars emptying dumpsters between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. (§ 137-5). Dalton's code lets only the Borough or its designated subcontractor carry solid waste through its streets (§ 290-7), so we check the Borough's rules before booking there. Same-day or next-day when availability allows.

Many of them, depending on where the trucks are and when you call - early in the day gives you the best chance. The closest runs from the yard are central Scranton and Dickson City, approx. 3 road miles, and Taylor, approx. 4; the furthest are Jessup, approx. 12, Carbondale, approx. 13, and Moscow, approx. 14. In Archbald, Jermyn, Dalton and Dickson City we check the Borough's rules before booking, which can take longer than a same-day window.
Call and ask - neighborhoods and villages inside each place are inside our run; they just do not have their own pages. Tell us the address and we will tell you which rules apply. The rules follow the city or borough the property is in, not the mailing address.
Because collection rules are set place by place. Scranton requires a yearly City hauler licence with a sticker on each truck (City Code § 400-16), Old Forge a Borough licence (§ 290-4C), and Archbald, Jermyn and Dalton give the Borough or its designee exclusive hauling rights on paper, while Dickson City reserves household refuse to the Borough. We state what each place says, and where a place has rules that come first, we check them before booking.
Delivery location is one of the things the price depends on, so the furthest places can cost a little more - we say so up front.
To local disposal and recycling facilities in the Scranton area. Materials such as metal, concrete and yard waste are recycled whenever possible, and we ask what is going in before we quote.
