Junk Removal across Lackawanna County
Junk removal is the other half of what we do. Instead of dropping a container and coming back in a week, our team handles the loading, the hauling and the disposal - you point, we remove. It suits the jobs where the problem is labor rather than volume: a single couch, mattress or appliance, an estate cleanout or a rental property turnover, an office or retail cleanout, or debris after a storm.
The rule of thumb on the phone: if it is a few items or a houseful you want gone hands-off, call the crew; if it is renovation debris, a yard project, a construction site or a multi-day cleanout you will load at your own pace, a self-load dumpster is usually the better deal. We do both.
At a glance
What you get with junk removal
- A team that does all the lifting, loading, hauling and disposal
- A clear quote up front based on volume and materials
- Furniture, mattresses, appliances and office equipment
- Same-day and next-day service available in many cases
- Usable items recycled or donated whenever possible
- Residential, commercial and construction cleanups
Cleanouts, turnovers and the one-off pile
Home cleanouts are the biggest category: moving preparation and decluttering, estate cleanouts, and garage, basement and attic cleanouts for homeowners and landlords, along with tenant move-outs and eviction cleanups for property managers. Businesses are next: offices, retail stores and warehouses, with office equipment, shelving and fixtures. Then the one-off pile: old furniture and mattresses, appliances (with proper preparation when required), household junk and boxes, renovation debris, or branches and damaged materials after a storm.
What we cannot take is anything hazardous: paint, fuel, oil, chemicals, asbestos, medical waste and batteries. Lackawanna County runs household hazardous waste and tire collections for County residents, and your borough or City office can tell you what its own pickups take.
Junk removal or a dumpster - which is better?
A rough rule: if the job is single items, an estate cleanout, a rental turnover or an urgent cleanup you want handled hands-off, call the crew. Full-service junk removal is priced by volume and the labor required, and larger or ongoing jobs are quoted individually, so you always get a clear quote before any work begins. If it is a remodel, a yard, a job site or a multi-day cleanout, a roll-off on the driveway is usually better value, because you load it at your own pace and the dumpster is priced flat by size. We will say which on the phone.

Junk removal - the local specifics
Most public pickups stop short of a real cleanout. Scranton's DPW picks up household garbage first and larger items only "if we have room in the truck". Dunmore's 2026 calendar says clean-outs will not be accepted and appliances, tires and construction material are not eligible for its large-item pickup, Dickson City's spring cleanup is one pickup per house, and the boroughs that collect bulk items set weekly limits. Electronics have their own rule: Pennsylvania's Covered Device Recycling Act bans throwing out a covered device - "desktop and laptop computers, computer monitors, computer peripherals, and televisions" - with municipal waste, and DEP says licensed waste haulers "may not knowingly commingle covered devices with waste destined for disposal". Residents have public options for electronics: the Mid-Valley Electronics Recycling Program run by Archbald, Blakely, Jessup, Throop, Dickson City and Olyphant, Jessup's Friday drop-off, Throop's monthly sticker pickup and the City of Scranton's electronics recycling events. Junk removal is for the pile that cannot wait, or does not fit any of that. Usable furniture and household items are donated, and metal, cardboard and construction debris are recycled, whenever possible.

How is junk removal priced?
Full-service junk removal is priced by volume and the labor required, and larger or ongoing jobs are quoted individually. You get a clear quote up front, before any work begins. Describe the pile, or email a photo, and we will give you a number.
Do I need to be there?
For the first visit, usually - someone needs to point at what goes and what stays. Tell us about access when you book.
Can you take appliances and electronics?
Appliances, yes, with proper preparation when required, and office equipment and electronics too. Pennsylvania bans disposing of covered devices - computers, monitors, peripherals and TVs - with municipal waste, so tell us what you have when you book.
Can you take a mattress or a couch?
Yes - old furniture and mattresses are some of the most common things we remove, from single items to whole-house cleanouts.
How fast can a crew come?
Same-day and next-day service is available in many cases, depending on availability. Call early in the day for the best chance.
